Our team of golf professionals have played with and worked with some of the best in the game—and have earned awards and accolades in their own right. From beginners young and old to seasoned players, our team will work with you to provide insight and education to refine and improve your game.
Jeff Hanson - Director of Golf
A skilled player who was Captain of his collegiate golf team at the University of Wyoming, Jeff began his career as Head Professional at Glenmoor Country Club before becoming Assistant Professional at Cherry Hills Country Club, one of the country’s top-ranked clubs. He then was Head Professional at Beaver Creek Country Club before becoming Director of Golf at Red Sky Golf Club at the club’s inception in 2001. Since then he has been instrumental in all aspects of the club’s golf operations.
Jeff possesses a great passion for the game of golf and is a tremendous addition to the Ponte Vedra Inn & Club team. He brings a wealth of experience from some of the most renowned clubs in the United States and is committed to enhancing the member golf experience while embracing our long-standing history and traditions.
Joey Flinchbaugh - Director Agronomy
Joey is a native of Ponte Vedra Beach, FL. After graduating from Nease High School, Joey attended Lake City Community College focusing on Golf Course Operations. While in college, Joey began gaining agronomic experience at TPC Sawgrass during the school year. During the summers, Joey expanded his experience by completing internships at the most prestigious clubs in the country including Charlotte Country Club and Merion Golf Club. When an opportunity at TPC Sawgrass became available, Joey returned home to become an assistant. While the tournament experience was an attraction, TPC provided year-round learning. Along with hosting The PLAYERS Championship, TPC Sawgrass Stadium Course underwent construction every year. TPC Sawgrass was also an opportunity to develop management skills with an extremely fast paced, multi-faceted environment.
Having honed his at TPC Sawgrass, he once again turned to the private club sector as the Senior Assistant Superintendent at Pablo Creek. Pablo Creek provided time to perfect his agronomic knowledge. Here he learned procedures, which he implements today. Joey’s experiences at a vast array of clubs groomed him for the opportunity at Ponte Vedra Inn and Club
Grace Hurley, PGA - Director of Sports Retail
Born in Utah and raised in Washington state, Grace Hurley obtained her Class A PGA Card from the University of Idaho where she also played Division 1 collegiate golf and academically excelled through the business program. Grace has a deep background in golf working as a past Assistant Golf Professional at TPC Boston and a Product/Merchandise specialist for Titleist. Along with many other accolades, she won 2018 North Florida Resort Merchandiser of the Year and other AGM Platinum Awards. While managing our Five Diamond Golf Shop she also manages our Tennis Pro Shop and Fitness Facility.
Bob Wallace, PGA - Head Golf Professional
Born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland, Bob has spent the majority of his golf professional career in the Mid-Atlantic area. Bob was a member of the golf team at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County, and turned Professional in 1997. Bob’s passion for the game includes playing competitively as well as teaching and coaching. Elected to the PGA of America in 2009, Bob is an accomplished player and instructor and is recognized as a Titleist Performance Institute (TPI) Level II Certified Golf Fitness instructor and a U.S. Kids Golf Certified Coach. Bob and his wife Diana relocated to Ponte Vedra Beach in 2012 as part of their “quality of life” move, and has been a member of the Ponte Vedra Inn & Club Professional Staff since 2017.
Milana Luckhardt - Assistant Golf Shop Manager
Milana grew up in Spartanburg, SC. She studied Exercise Science at Pfeiffer University where she also played four years of volleyball. Milana was born and raised in the golf industry, learning extensive golf knowledge from her father she has been with the golf staff since August 2016.
David Nordeen, PGA - Assistant Professional
A Richfield, Minnesota, native, David Nordeen has immersed himself in his favorite sport, and career, since early on. He was captain of the University of Minnesota golf team while attending school there and then became the teaching pro at Rich Acres Golf Club.
After a stint at Brackett’s Crossing in Lakeville, Minnesota, he stepped into a position as an Assistant Pro at the Minneapolis Golf Club before joining the Somerby staff as The Head Golf Professional/Director of Golf. Although he has missed qualifying for the PGA Tour on three occasions, his credentials are highlighted by two State Amateur Championships and a State Pub Links Amateur Championship, as well as professional major state wins at the 1994 Tapemark Charity Pro-Am, the 1998 Minnesota Section PGA Championship, 2002 Section Club Professionals Championship and the 2014 Senior Match Play Championship.
He is blessed to have his wife Terri of 25 years and Son Noah a senior at Iowa State University. Hobbies include: sports in general, Hunting Deer and pheasant, cabinet making and general carpentry.
Ryan Meitz - Assistant Golf Professional
Ryan comes to the Inn and Club by way of Interlachen Country Club in Orlando, Florida. A graduate of the Golf Academy of America, Ryan brings industry knowledge a passion for playing and teaching golf to our team. Ryan will be entering the PGA of America's education program with aspirations of becoming a member of the PGA of America in the future.
Jackson Cheek - Assistant Golf Professional
Jackson Cheek has been a member of our staff since March of 2021. He is a PGA Associate, working to become a Class-A PGA Professional. Jackson was raised in Western North Carolina, graduated from North Buncombe High School, then earned his Bachelor’s Degree from The University of North Carolina at Charlotte. Jackson is a director of our Ponte Vedra Junior Golf Association, he is a certified level 1 US Kids Coach, and is passionate about passing the game forward to the future generations of young golfers. He enjoys teaching all ages and skill levels, while also studying the game so he can help his students progress their game further. Jackson’s goal once he becomes a Class-A PGA member, is to become either a Head Golf Professional or Director of Golf in the future.
