The Florida Department of Environmental Protection has recently recognized the Ponte Vedra Inn & Club as recipient of the Palm Award for voluntarily adopting a variety of "green" practices that reduce waste and conserve natural resources. Among the initiatives introduced were the use of energy efficient light bulbs in lobbies and guest rooms, sensor controlled exterior lighting, recycling all cardboard, use of low flow faucets, toilets and showerheads in locker rooms and guest rooms, use of 30% post-consumer recycled content products, recycling of all toner cartridges and "gray" water for property irrigation.
